This is the second species that got us started! When we first saw photos, it was hard to believe that there was an isopod so cute. Now we have been successfully breeding them for more than a year, although we did have a setback when conditions got too dry. Since then, we have kept our rubber duckies on an ABG substrate with powdered calcium carbonate mixed in, and provided plenty of cover in the form of damp wood, limestone, sphagnum moss, and leaves. This appears to be what this undescribed species likes, as they have been breeding regularly. Availability is sporadic, as we continue to build our numbers, but be sure to check in whenever they might be available. Like the other Asian cave species, rubber duckies appear to do well with high-protein foods.
