Yet another undescribed species! From what we have been able to gather, cave systems of Thailand are crawling with many different isopod species. This one, the "purple ghost" (not to be confused with the "purple giant"), appears to like moisture and protein-rich foods. Of course, we have never seen them eating, but many of these species appear to live in caves that are rich in bat guano (a.k.a. poop). If that is the case, and these bats are insect-eaters, it might indicate that these cave dwellers prefer foods like fish flakes in their diets. Like the other cave species, they are slow growers and slow breeders, and we have not successfully bred them yet.
