We are convinced that these are the largest of all known land-dwelling isopod species. Instead of being called "land shrimp," Porcellio magnificus are "land lobsters"! They are not frequent breeders, but their litters are large. Amazing colors, too. These are definitely one of our absolute favorites. They appear to prefer drier conditions, and come from a habitat with lots of limestone (though they also seem to like wood). Some say that they will not eat fish flakes, but we offer them as part of their diet, along with fruits and vegetables.
