Note: These are sold in groups of 6, instead of the "usual" 10. There is some dispute over whether the "blonde rubberduck" is a different species from the more familiar "rubber ducky," but many claim that this is a variant of the "rubber ducky" species. Whatever the case, neither these nor the "rubber duckies" have been officially described in the scientific literature, which means they do not yet have a scientific name. Though most similar to isopods in the genus Cubaris, these roly-polies might be in a genus all their own. We keep these in a moist ABG substrate with wood, leaves, cuttlebone, limestone, small sheets of plaster, and powdered calcium mixed in with the substrate. Though we feed fruits, vegetables, ad fish flakes, some say that these cave species have a higher preference for protein.
